Presentation of organisation

State University of Moldova is one of the most important higher education institutions in the country.

It has around 17 000 students who study at 14 faculties. University provides 59 Bachelor’s/Licentiate programs, 73 Master’s programs, 66 Doctorate programs. SUM has a highly qualified technical staff and well-equipped material base, which provides friendly atmosphere and qualitative studies. SUM has over 100 000 graduates who represent the biggest part of Moldova’s intellectual elite.

TEMPUS project is in connection with mission and priority strategic objectives of MSU. The results of the project will have a substantial positive impact on the assurance of higher education quality & provided educational services; it will enhance the scientific potential development & promotion of scientific ideas, theories, concepts through research carried out by staff & students. The project will contribute to integration of the university into European higher education and research space.

The role of the organisation in the project

The MSU intends to improve and diversify the informational services provided to  students, master and doctoral students and academic staff and academic community; to broaden and facilitate the access to international informational resources; to equip the university library with up-to-date IT resources; and to integrate the library into a unique academic informational space established within university libraries network in Moldova.
